# 17. Why does Block Reward generates longer than usual?

In RollerCoin, the **default block mining time** is approximately **10 minutes**. This means that every \~10 minutes, a new block is generated, giving players the opportunity to earn rewards for their mining efforts.

However, the **block time may vary slightly** from block to block. This system mirrors real cryptocurrency mining, where the block mining time can fluctuate depending on the overall **network hash rate**.
